Good day everyone! My name is Yuxi Tang and my major is Economics. I am already in my senior year and it this is one of the last few subjects that I need to take so I could finally graduate in June 2021. I took up economics because I wanted to hone my management skills. By the way, economics is not just about business planning and marketing. Economics is also about research and management. As a matter of fact, economics opened my eyes to variety of ways one can deal with a single problem. Aside from being a student, I also volunteer in kindergarten class. Volunteering in kindergarten class is so fulfilling because I could help the teachers and make kids laugh. Being around kids also remind me how fun my childhood was. Moreover, my hobbies include swimming, playing badminton, and shopping. Aside from pursuing a career in economics, I also intend to come up with my own business. I know that it is a pretty long shot but I wanted to own a leisure center where fitness and sports afficionado like me can do different leisure activities, swim in the pool, or even meet in one of my fully equipped meeting rooms. With regard to what I look forward in EDCI 338 class, I am hoping to learn more on how digital learners can responsibly use the internet. For the past few months, I have been reading online privacy issues like social media giants are collecting their users’ personal information. I was bothered by this kind of news so I did my own research on how I could protect my personal information online. Nevertheless, I still believe that it would be better to learn new and more insights from this class. I look forward to collaborating with you and goodluck to all of us!

Nice to meet you Yuxi Tang! As a kindergarten teacher myself I can appreciate how you volunteer. Your help is invaluable to those little learners. I love your comment about how you would like, “to learn more on how digital learners can responsibly use the internet.” I too am interested in teaching this to the learners in my room and I believe we are actually taking the first steps in doing that right here in this course. As I set up my blog and security, I am learning how to protect myself more and to see how public or private I can be. This will trickle into my teaching in the classroom, as well as to my children. Hello, Yuxi Tang! Congratulation on your graduation this year. I think economics is a very interesting subject which is related to our daily life. I like to have some readings to learn economy. I have read Adam Smith’s book, “Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations”. It gives me a sense of how business works around the world. Also, I admire you are a volunteer at kindergarten. Playing with children is always make people optimistic. I hope you can achieve your goal after a few years and I would like to visit your leisure center at that time. 🙂
